UAE’s Abu Dhabi Autonomous Systems Investments Co LLC (ADASI) has won an AED 234 million (USD 63.70 million) contract to supply the UAE Armed Forces with the new Camcopter S-100 unmanned helicopters.
The deal includes integrated logistics support, training, engineering, technical support and was announced by UAE defense conglomerate EDGE, the parent company of ADASI.

The UAE Armed Forces will use the drone across a wide range of military applications, such as intelligence gathering, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), target acquisition, naval support and border patrol.

On Feb. 23, ADASI has unveiled a similar vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) drone, named Garmousha, at the UMEX 2020 exhibition at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. Garmousha is claimed to be the first drone to be made in the UAE.
Schiebel Camcopter S-100
The Camcopter S-100 is a vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) using a rotorcraft/helicopter design developed by the Austrian company, Schiebel.
The drone has a maximum speed of 220 kilometers per hour (140 mph), a flight ceiling of 5,500 meters (18,000 ft), and an endurance of 6 hours, which is extendable to over 10 hours with optional external AVGAS fuel tanks fitted.
The S-100 has a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of 200 kilograms (440 lb). It is powered by a 55 horsepower (41 kW) Diamond engine and can carry various payloads, such as electro-optics and infrared sensors.
The launch customer for the S-100 was the UAE Army, which ordered 40 aircraft with an option for 40 more. Since then, the aircraft was ordered by multiple nations, with total orders more than 200.
