State-owned heavy equipment manufacturer, BEML Limited has received an order from the Indian Ministry of Defence (MoD) to supply 400 high mobility vehicles to Indian Army.
The contract is worth Rs. 758 crores (~USD103 million). The equipment will be manufactured at BEML’s Palakkad Plant in Kerala state with the delivery taking place in a span of one year.
“These High Mobility vehicles would play a key role in the logistics management of the Indian Army leveraging on its exceptional cross country capabilities,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
This new vehicles will enable the deployment of armoured fighting vehicles, troops, ammunition and stores to operational areas.
