Indian state-owned aircraft manufacturer, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia’s JSC Rosoboronexport.
The MoU was signed on Feb. 6 at the DefExpo 2020 exhibition held in Lucknow, India.
The memorandum envisages the export of spares and services to friendly countries for which license has been given to HAL. The parties will subsequently sign an agreement on mutually agreed terms and conditions.
The scope will include Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft, Saturn AL-31 FP engine, Klimov RD-33 engine, accessories etc. AL-31FP engine powers Su-30MKI and RD-33 is the primary engine for the Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter jet.
