Fire Breaks Out in Hanger at Minot Air Force Base

A fire broke out inside an unoccupied hangar, which was used for equipment storage, at Minot Air Force Base on 28 December at approximately 5:15 p.m.

According to a statement released by the base authorities, no one was injured and the hangar did not have any personnel or aircraft inside. “Please remain away from the scene to allow emergency personnel to respond”, said the statement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Update 11:39 p.m. local time:

The fire is ongoing but expected to extinguish within the hour. The hangar was used for overflow snow removal equipment & transient alert equipment. No one was hurt and no other buildings were affected.
