FLIR Surveillance Inc. is awarded a U.S. Navy contract with a five-year ordering period for supplies, repairs and upgrades for Littoral Combat Ship configuration of Sea Star SAFIRE III Electro-Optics Sensor Systems.
The firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, worth around $12.69 million, was awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) located in Crane, Indiana.
Work will be performed in Wilsonville, Oregon, and is expected to be complete by August 2024.
The FLIR Sea Star SAFIRE III is a rugged ship-mountable electro-optical sensor system to provide surface ships with a day and night high-resolution infrared and visible-light imaging and rangefinding capability to augment existing optical and radar sensors to detect and identify asymmetric threats.
The U.S. Navy littoral combat ships uses Sea Star SAFIRE III sensor system for 57 mm gun fire control.
