Indian Navy Frigate, INS Satpura Arrives at Port of Maura, Brunei

The Indian Navy’s Shivalik-class stealth multi-role frigate, INS Satpura (F48) has arrived at Port of Maura in Brunei for a scheduled port visit.

The warship was accorded a rousing welcome by Royal Brunei Navy personnel as it entered the port.

The visit was part of the three month long overseas deployment during which the ship visited 12 ports in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Brunei and Russia.

The ship has earlier participated in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Fleet Review (IFR) 2017

INS Satpura (F48) is a Shivalik-class stealth multi-role frigate operated by the Indian Navy. INS Satpura was built at the Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) in Mumbai. The ship was commissioned on 20 August 2011 into the Eastern Naval Command. The stealth frigate is commanded by Captain Rahul Shankar.
