Iran’s Top Nuclear Scientist Shot Dead Near Tehran
Iran’s top nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahavadi was shot dead near Tehran on Friday in an apparent assassination.
Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahavadi was head of the research center of new technology in the elite Revolutionary Guards and was considered one of the masterminds of Iran’s nuclear program.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif called the incident “cowardice” and added that Israel was likely involved in the assassination.
