Kongsberg Hydroid is awarded a $15.8 million U.S. Navy indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract for the MK 18 Family of Systems– Unmanned Underwater Vehicle systems.
This contract includes options which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of this contract to MUSD 84. The contract work will be performed in Pocasset, Massachusetts, and is expected to be complete by August 2020.
MK 18 is an autonomous underwater unmanned vehicle (UUV) used by the U.S. Navy for mine detection missions with an improved endurance and area coverage rate that replaces the in-theater Swordfish system. It is based on Hydroid REMUS 600 UUV.
