Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace has signed a contract, worth 270 MNOK, with the Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) for the delivery of its Protector Remote Weapon Stations (RWS) to the Royal Danish Army.
The contract was won in an international competitive bidding process, according to a company statement. The Protector RWS will be integrated on Denmark’s new fleet of Piranha V 8×8 wheeled armoured vehicles.

Kongsberg’s Protector RWS is one of the world’s most fielded RWS with close to 20,000 units delivered to customers around the globe. Denmark is the 23rd country to select the system.
The PROTECTOR RWS a highly flexible remote controlled weapon station (RCWS) designed for small and medium calibre weapons including mounting of coaxial weapons and ATGM.
An advanced and modular Sensor suite (Day, Night, LRF) enables unique and tailorable situational awareness. The fully stabilized 2 + 2 Axis (DLOS) system; enables the gunner to keep his sights on target, independent of ballistic solution for the weapon and ammunition in use. The system is platform-independent and can operate both at land and sea.
