The first batch of Airbus H225M medium twin helicopters ordered by Kuwait have started their flight testing, Airbus announced.
Kuwait ordered 30 of the long-range multi-role H225M helicopters in August 2016. They will be operated by the Kuwait Air Force and the Kuwait National Guard. The first batch of helicopters is scheduled to be delivered to Kuwait later this year.
Airbus Helicopters H225M, earlier called as Eurocopter EC725 Caracal, is a long-range tactical transport military helicopter developed from the Eurocopter AS532 Cougar for military use. It is the latest member of Airbus’ military Super Puma/Cougar family.
H225M is a twin-engined aircraft and can carry up to 28 seated troops along with two crew, depending on the configuration.
There are currently 95 H225Ms in service across the world, having accumulated around 114,000 flight hours. The H225M is relied upon by France, Brazil, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand to support their most demanding missions and was recently ordered by Singapore, Kuwait, and Hungary.
