Nexter Systems, a part of KMW+Nexter Defense Systems (KNDS), has been selected by the Canadian government to supply the Canadian Army with 88 NERVA multi-purpose robots under the High Research Secured-Remotely Operated Vehicle (HRS-ROV) requirement.
Nexter Systems, as prime contractor, will provide overall HRS-ROV program and configuration management for the delivery of 79 NERVA-LG and 9 NERVA-XX robots through its subsidiary Nexter Robotics. The team includes Nexter Robotics and ECA Robotics for the supply of the robots, and Deltic Group (Oakville, ON) for the In-Support (ISS). The HRS-ROV contract has a value of C$6 million CAD GSTE (4 million EUR).
“We are honoured that the Department of National Defense and Public Services Procurement Canada found our team and robots best suited to the Canadian needs for this program” said Nexter Robotics Deputy General Manager Joël Morillon.
The NERVA range represents the best technology has to offer in multi-mission robotic systems. On top of its high performances, NERVA-LG’s robustness and waterproofness allows it to be thrown on any terrain. It can easily be controlled from any standard PC, tablet or smartphone, and proposes semi-autonomous capabilities to reduce operator workload. These characteristics, when coupled with NERVA-LG’s wide range of payloads, make Nexter Robotic’ solution an efficient tool for all types of situations.. This multi-purpose medium size robot is meant for reconnaissance and support to operations.
