An AgustaWestland AW101 Search and rescue (SAR) helicopter rolled over on its side during a test run at Stavanger Airport, Norway.
No people have been injured during the incident.
The aircraft had only been delivered to the Royal Norwegian Air Force’s Sola airport by Leonardo on Nov. 17. The helicopter was the first of a batch of 16 helicopters ordered by the Royal Norwegian Air Force.
At Sola, the helicopter is going through a comprehensive test and evaluation program before it is put into regular operation in 2018.
No detail on the extent of the damage is available, but the Norwegian defence ministry has described it as a “serious incident” in local media. Leonardo has also not commented on the incident.
