L3 has displayed AT-802L Longsword light strike aircraft and King Air-based SPYDR II tactical Intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft at the Paris Air Show 2017.
The AT-802L Longsword is an ISR and light strike aircraft developed by L3 with aircraft manufacturer Air Tractor. It is based on Air Tractor’s AT-802 agriculture aircraft.
The AT-802 has a Garmin G600 glass cockpit and features dual-screen Primary/Multi-Function displays (MFD), attitude/heading reference system (AHRS), digital intercommunication system and Electronic Standby Instrument System. Longsword is designed to perform ISR missions for more than eight hours and carry a heavy payload.
L3 is also showing SPYDR II tactical ISR aircraft based on civilian Beechcraft King Air 350ER. It features RAPDS
(Rapid Aircraft Payload Deployment System). This enables the aircraft to reconfigure for mission operations in a very short time frame. It is capable of performing a wide range of tactical ISR duties. SPYDR leverages L-3’s experience with the development of King Air-based MC-12W Liberty ISR aircraft for USAF.
