An Alpha Jet aircraft, operated by the French Air Force’s aerobatic demonstration unit Patrouille Acrobatique de France (PAF), has crashed while landing at the Perpignan-Rivesaltes Airport in southwestern France on July 25.

The aircraft reportedly veered off the runway and smashed on the concrete embankment separating a road. The pilot of the jet ejected successfully from the aircraft and is in stable condition.

The team announced that all aerial demonstrations are cancelled until investigation to the cause of the crash is completed. The team was expected to perform at an air demonstration in Saint-Cyprien (southern France) later on the day.

The Dassault/Dornier Alpha Jet is a light attack jet and advanced jet trainer co-manufactured by Dassault Aviation of France and Dornier Flugzeugwerke of Germany.
