Royal Australian Navy’s HMAS Sirius visits Kuantan, Malaysia

The Royal Australian Navy fleet replenishment vessel, HMAS Sirius has recently arrived in Kuantan, Malaysia for a scheduled port visit.

The ship was greeted by the Royal Malaysian Navy personnel from Naval Region 1.

The Commanding Officer of Sirius, Commander Michael Oborn has hosted a luncheon for the local Chief of Staff, Captain Anuar, and a group of his officers during the visit. They signified the event with a formal exchange of plaques.

Sirius visited Kuantan as part of the Indo-Pacific Endeavour task group. She departed her home port of HMAS Stirling, in Western Australia in August and will return home in December.

During this time the ship will conduct a number of port visits in the South East Asian region. Sirius will provide support to the Australian fleet of ships and U.S. Navy ships while deployed.
