Russian Aerospace Forces Conducts Another Test-Launch of New Anti-Ballistic Missile System

Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) successfully carried out another test launch of a new missile of the Russian anti-ballistic missile (ABM) system.

The test launch was conducted by the combat crew of the VKS air and anti-missile defense forces at the Sary-Shagan training ground in Kazakhstan.

During the event, Major General Sergei Grabchuk, commander of the anti-missile defense unit of the Aerospace Forces, said that “after a series of tests, the new anti-missile missile defense system reliably confirmed the inherent characteristics, and the combat crews successfully completed the task, hitting the conditional target with the given accuracy.”

The missile defense system is in service with the Aerospace Forces, and is designed to protect against strikes from long-range ballistic missiles.
