Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet hold mine warfare exercise

The Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet holds a scheduled mine warfare exercise at the Novorossiysk Naval Base in Krasnodar Krai, Russia.

In the course of the exercise, the small anti-submarine warfare (ASW) ships Yeysk and Povorino laid mock mines at training areas, and the minesweepers Valentin Pikul and Vice-Admiral Zakharin, performing mine actions, conducted search and clearing up area from sea mines by deep-water contact sweeps.

At the end of the combat training, the ships conducted air defence drills of the all-arms tactical ship group at sea, performed artillery live-fire exercise to engaged floating target-mine.
