Russian Navy warships arrive in Chuk Samet port, Thailand

The Russian Navy Pacific Fleet vessels, Admiral Panteleyev and Boris Butoma has arrived at the Chuk Samet port (Naval base Sattahip) on  Nov. 13 for a visit to the Kingdom of Thailand.

After the ships being moored and supplies replenished, personnel of overseas Russians in Thailand visited the large destroyer Admiral Panteleyev.

Today, the command of the ship detachment took part in the meeting on cooperation in course of the international naval parade marking the ASEAN’s Anniversary. It is planned that the Russian crews will take part in the naval parade marking the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN.

The visit will continue till November 21.

Admiral Panteleyev is an Udaloy-class destroyer (“large anti-submarine ship”) of the Russian Navy. She is a part of the Russian Pacific Ocean Fleet; she was deployed in 2009 as part of operations to combat piracy off the Somalian coast. Ship also participated at RIMPAC 2012.

Boris Butoma is a Boris Chilikin-class (Project 1559V Morskoy prostor, Sea space) of fleet replenishment oiler built in 1970s for for the Soviet Navy and currently in service with the Russian Navy. The vessel was commissioned on 30 October 1978.
