Six Tu-22M3 long-range bombers of the Russian Aerospace Forces have conducted airstrike on ISIS terrorist targets near Abu Kamal in Deir ez-Zor province, Syria.
The strategic bombers took off from an airfield in Russia and flew over territories of Iraq and Iran to carry out the strike against strongholds, ammunition and armament depots of insurgents. The bombers were provided escort by Su-30SM fighter jets.
The statement from the Russian Defense Ministry added that all assigned targets have been hit and all the involved aircraft are back at their base.
