Swedish defence major, Saab will showcase various vehicle integrated camouflage systems developed by its subsidiary Barracuda such as Mobile Camouflage System (MCS) at Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) 2017, the company said in a statement.
According to the statement, MCS will be showcased on vehicles from multiple OEM companies including an IVECO vehicle equipped with a CBRN and air defence capability.
The Mobile Camouflage System (MCS), developed and produced by Saab Barracuda, is intended for the protection of vehicles during movement and in combat, no matter what environment and climate. The system is a flexible solution which can be applied in a number of configurations using different types of materials.
Available in a range of different versions, the system is composed of a combination of camouflage materials with signature adaptation properties such as visual and near-infrared protection, thermal protection and radar protection. MCS can also be equipped with the HeaT Reduction.
These solutions protect against hostile sensors and enemy target acquisition, the HeaT Reduction systems also lower the internal temperature of vehicles, thereby extending the endurance of both personnel and electronic equipment.
“Visitors at this year’s DSEI will be able to see the system at various places around the exhibition area. The MCS system is a world-leading solution, used by many countries around the world. Thanks to its flexible design, it can be mounted on different vehicles and in different environments. For many of our customers out there, it is crucial that they can use the system in different ways”, says Anders Wiman, head of Saab Barracuda.
