Turkey’s Aselsan Receives $6M Order to Supply UHF Radio Stations to Ukraine

SpetsTechnoExport, part of Ukrainian State Concern Ukroboronprom, signed a new contract with Turkish company Aselsan A.Ş. worth approximately $6 million for the supply of UHF radio stations to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The signing took place within the framework of the international exhibition “Arms and Security 2019”.

The new contract is part of a framework agreement between SpetsTechnoExport and Aselsan for the supply of Turkish radiocommunications equipment to Ukraine, which was concluded in 2016. This agreement is implemented under the mechanism of offset obligations between countries and contains the requirement to launch the production of military radiocommunications in Ukraine.

New batches of UHF radio stations will be deployed to Ukrainian troops in 2020 and will be the first to be manufactured in Ukraine.

Manufacturing of Turkish radio communication systems in Ukraine allows the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to access the most up-to-date telecommunications technologies, according to a SpetsTechnoExport statement.
