U.S. Air Force Deploys F-22 Raptor Stealth Fighter Jets to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar For First Time

The U.S. Air Force has deployed its F-22 Raptor stealth fighter jets to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar for the first time, the U.S. Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) said in a statement.

The advanced jets arrived at the Air Base on June 27, amid rising tensions between Iran and USA. Even though, F-22s were earlier deployed to the nearby Al Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, this is the first time the fifth generation jets arrived at the Al Udeid Air Base.

According to AFCENT, the deployment was conducted to “defend American forces and interests in the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility”.
