U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagles Arrive at Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE to ‘Support Ongoing Operations’

The U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets from the 494th Fighter Squadron arrived at Al Dhafra Air Base (ADAB) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), on Oct. 18, to support ongoing operations, the U.S. Air Forces Central Command (AFCENT) said in a statement.

The 494th FS “Panthers” is deployed from the 48th Fighter Wing, Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England.

The Strike Eagles were deployed to the AFCENT area of responsibility “in support of ongoing operations to maintain air superiority, defend forces on the ground, enhance regional partnerships, and demonstrate a continued commitment to regional security and stability”, according to AFCENT.

The jets will join the diverse mix of aircraft at ADAB to include additional F-15E’s as well as F-35A Lightning II stealth fighter jets, KC-10 Extender aerial refueling aircraft, E-3 Sentry airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft, and RQ-4 Global Hawk unmanned surveillance aircraft to support ongoing operations in the region.
