U.S. Service Member Dies in Non-Combat Related Incident in Afghanistan

The U.S. Department of Defense announced the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in Afghanistan, on June 1.

The deceased was identified as Sgt. 1st Class. Elliott J. Robbins, 31, from Ogden, Utah. He was was assigned to the U.S. Army’s 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) based at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Robbins died on June 30 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, from a non-combat related incident. The incident is under investigation, said a U.S. DoD statement.
