USCGC Venturous arrives in Vieques, Puerto Rico to deliver fuel, water

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) medium endurance cutter, USCGC Venturous (WMEC-625) has arrived in Vieques, Puerto Rico to deliver fuel and water and to assist in the relief effort, on Sept. 30.

The ship delivered a total of 3,000 gallons of water, 3,800 gallons of diesel fuel and ice to the local community.

Another USCG cutter USCGC Elm (WLB-204) has delivered 28,000 lbs of supplies to Vieques Island, Puerto Rico on Saturday, Sept. 30.

USCGC Venturous (WMEC-625) is a United States Coast Guard medium endurance cutter homeported in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Today Venturous is working closely with Caribbean nations pursuing narcotics traffickers as well as rescuing and repatriating illegal migrants throughout the Caribbean Sea, the Northern Atlantic Ocean, and the Gulf of Mexico.
